Where we are
We are in Apulia Region, in the Salento peninsula, almost at the end of the “Italian heel”.
More precisely, the “Francesca Stajano” Farm House is located in the town of Alezio, about 6 kilometers from Gallipoli, the pearl of the Ionian Sea.
If you are not in Apulia, to reach us you can use the following means:
Plane: The Apulia airports closest to our area are those of Bari and Brindisi. For only charter flights and for seasonal time probably the military airport of Galatina will open soon.
Car: The highways that connect the Apulia with Northern Italy are the A14 highway (or Adriatica road) that runs two-thirds of the region and the A16 highway Naples-Bari. For those coming from Calabria, the first stop in Apulia will be the city of Taranto. From there you can point directly to Lecce or Gallipoli or take advantage of a better road conditions going through Brindisi. Once in Lecce, take the West ring road and drive for Gallipoli. After about 30 km you will find the exit for Sannicola and Alezio.
Train: Trains coming from Northern or central Italian cities lead to subsequent cities of Foggia, Bari, Brindisi and Lecce. The Southeast railways link Lecce with Alezio and Gallipoli. For more information: www.trenitalia.it – www.fseonline.it.
